OK, so it's been a while since I've posted and a lot has happened in a short time. So here's what's going on with us!
The end of June Ethan's law partner was offered a different job and quit the law firm. The next week was our trip to San Antonio, and we took that week to regroup and try to figure out what to do next. We decided to try to keep the firm going for a few weeks and see what happened. By the end of July there had been no new clients. Ethan was frustrated and we were mostly broke. The last weekend of July Ethan's mom invited us up to Iowa for a little break and some inspiration. While we were up in Iowa we sent out a whole bunch (40 or 50?) of applications in St Louis and other places, including one up in Iowa where our parents live. The Iowa law firm was having their annual partner meeting the week we were there, and after looking at Ethan's application, they called and asked if he could stay a few more days and interview with them. After the interview they asked if he could stay a few more days and come in for a second interview. The second interview turned into a job offer, which we decided to accept the same afternoon. The firm wanted Ethan to start as soon as possible, so we went back to St. Louis for a week, packed up all our stuff, cleaned the house, picked apples and did a bunch of yard work, put our house on the market, loaded as much stuff as we could in vans, and went back to Iowa. That was about a week and a half ago. Ethan's been working for a week now, and seems to like his new job. I've still been home with Jacen, but have been applying to a few jobs. No luck yet, but we'll see. We're currently living with my parents until our house sells and we can buy one here.
This all happened really fast, and we're still adjusting to being here. But it's nice to be by family again, and it's nice for Ethan to have consistent work. Please pray that our house sells quickly, so that we can find a permanent home here!

Wow, that was a major update! I'm glad to hear that things are good, but bummed that you had to move so quickly. I'll keep your house in our thoughts, and maybe it will sell quickly!
